About
Benjamin Hamill is a UK-based cinematographer, camera operator and filmmaker with over 25 years of experience in visual storytelling.
Beginning his creative career as an award-winning tattoo artist, Benjamin developed a strong eye for composition, lighting and detail before transitioning into cinematography. His work spans narrative features, short films, music videos and commercial productions, with a particular passion for horror, thriller and visually driven genre cinema.
His cinematography combines atmospheric lighting with a cinematic, character-focused approach, drawing inspiration from filmmakers such as John Carpenter, Michael Gioulakis and Panos Cosmatos.
Benjamin has worked across a range of productions as Director of Photography, Camera Operator and Camera Assistant, including award-winning short films, feature productions and independent genre projects. He is also a Tiffen-trained Steadicam operator and works with a RED Komodo cinema camera alongside a set of Blazar Remus anamorphic lenses.
Whether joining an established production or developing original work, Benjamin is driven by one goal: creating striking cinematic images that serve the story above everything else.
